How old do I get and how can I grow old - as your lifestyle says !!

How old do I get and how can I grow old - as your lifestyle says !!
How old do I get and how can I grow old - as your lifestyle says !!

How old am I getting? Is a question that many people ask themselves. How old you get depends on many factors.

Not only the age of your parents and grandparents influence how old you get.

If your parents have grown old, you are more likely to grow old yourself. The age of your parents, however, only partly influence how old you get.

Another important factor that determines how old you get is your lifestyle.

This means that if, despite your parents, you have not grown old, you can still have a lot of influence on how old you can get. Your lifestyle is in your own hands.

A healthy lifestyle increases the chance that you will grow old.

Eating healthy, exercising a lot, not smoking, drinking moderately, dealing better with stress and resting a lot and sleeping well will make you grow old.

What is ageing? Ageing theory

Our body consists of organ system . These organ systems consist of tissues  and the tissues consist of living cells.

The cell  is the smallest living functional unit of the body. Our DNA is in the cells saved.

The DNA can be considered as a building instruction for the substances that a cell makes to function and a building instruction for sharing.

The DNA is copied when sharing a cell. When copying the DNA, damage may occur that are called mutations. After a mutation, the cell is less able to produce the required substances that the cells need. There are constant changes during our lifetime.

When these mutations noticeably lead to a deteriorated function of the cell and ultimately the organ systems, we speak of ageing.

These mutations occur in part spontaneously, but the occurrence of mutations is increased by the influence of free radicals. Free radicals damage the DNA, causing mutations.

Living unhealthily (poor diet, lack of exercise, smoking, stress and alcohol consumption) makes mutations faster and you age faster and reduces the chance of getting old.

By living healthily, mutations occur less quickly and you age less quickly and increase the chance that you will grow old.

Eat healthy to grow old

What you eat affects 50% of the risk of getting cancer. Cancer is one of the two leading causes of death in the Netherlands that cause premature death.

By eating healthily you reduce the chance of getting cancer and therefore to die prematurely. When you eat healthily, fewer free radicals are released that damage your DNA.

A healthy diet can even ensure that free radicals are captured.

People who follow the Okinawa diet and the Mediterranean diet reduce the chance of getting cancer and on average get much older, because these diets contain many free radicals.

The similarities between the Okinawa diet and the Mediterranean diet are eating
  • lots of fresh vegetables and mushrooms
  • lots of fresh fruit
  • many unsaturated fats and few saturated fats and trans fats
  • low sugar
  • little salt
  • little white flour and white flour
  • lots of whole grain, unrefined grains
  • lots of fatty fish
  • lean meat
By eating the following foods, you eat healthy:
  • eat at least four, five serving spoons of fresh vegetables
  • eat at least four pieces of fresh fruit
  • a small handful of unsalted nuts every day
  • a minimum of 300 grams of fatty fish per week
  • eat lean meat
  • eat whole grain products
  • not to eat sugar
  • do not drink sodas and fruit juices
  • do not add any salt
  • don't eat too much
In addition, controlling your weight is important if you want to grow old.

People who are overweight and therefore overweight or obese have a 400% greater chance of getting cancer, diabetes and cardiovascular disease. By losing weight, you greatly increase the chance of getting older.

Move a lot to grow old

By moving a lot, the body produces substances that capture free radicals, causing less cell damage. In addition, exercise ensures that strong muscles and bones and flexible joints are maintained.

Furthermore, exercise ensures that the brain stays younger. So keep moving when you want to grow old.

Move at a moderate intensity for at least one hour a day. This means that you have to walk or cycle at a brisk pace for at least an hour a day.

In addition, preferably do daily, but at least three times week 15 to 30 minutes of strength training. Finally, stretch all major muscles daily.

Do not smoke, or stop smoking to grow old

In cigarette smoke, e-rook, cigarette, cigar smoke and smoke from pipe tobacco are substances that cause the free mass release of radicals in the body.

Ninety percent of all people with lung cancer and COPD used to smoke.

People who smoke also have a much greater chance of developing cardiovascular disease and are much less fit than people who do not smoke.

By stopping smoking, after a few years, life expectancy is almost equal to people who have never smoked.

However,

this depends on how much and how long you have smoked.

If you have smoked for a long time and have smoked a lot, it will take much longer before your life expectancy equals non-smokers.

Do not drink, or moderate alcohol to grow old

For people who are younger than 40 and have never had cardiovascular disease, drinking alcohol only has harmful effects and drinking alcohol ensures that you age faster and have a greater chance of getting older getting cancer.

For people over 40 years old, or under 40 years old, who have had cardiovascular disease, moderate alcohol consumption protects against getting cardiovascular disease.

Drink half a glass of standard glass of alcohol daily, protecting against getting heart disease.

Better deal with stress, to grow old

In stress , the hormone cortisol is released. Cortisol lowers the amount of recovery hormones in the blood and cortisol puts the cells in a higher gear to release more energy.
 However,

more free radicals are released.
By dealing with stress in a better way, you experience less stress.

By experiencing less stress, less cortisol is released and the cortisol is broken down faster. There are many techniques for dealing well with stress.

Sleep and rest a lot to grow old

During sleep and rest, hormones are released that restore the cells. Blood cortisol levels are also lowered.
 Finally,

during rest and sleep, substances are released that capture the free radicals.

You can only sleep and rest well if you are not stimulated by the usual distractions in our society.

Turn off your PC, TV, laptop, MP3 player, smartphone and tablet well before you go to bed and switch off these devices if you want to rest.

Also do not drink caffeinated drinks if you want to sleep well and rest.

Do not drink coffee, tea, cola and energy drinks if you want to sleep well and rest.

In addition, you feel fatigue better if you do not drink caffeinated beverages, so you can rest faster and better.

Living in a village to grow old

People who live in a village on average live longer than people who live in a city. There are various reasons for this.

In a city, for example,

there is more traffic, which increases the chance of a fatal traffic accident. More traffic also causes harmful exhaust gases that cause more free radicals.

In a city there is more night-time noise, which makes you sleep less well. After all, it is harder to move a lot in the city.

thanks for the time .
