Children from 6 to 12 years old show a great interest in their culture and the culture of other countries and peoples. That is why Montessori Classes 6-12 are saturated with historical and cultural artifacts.

This can greatly frighten parents who think that such a child will be constantly. In fact, the child’s behaviour is undulating and the manifestations of character often change, but not as sharply as it will be during puberty.

A child of 6 - 12 years of age seeks to explore the world, culture, nature. He is interested in working in projects. He needs to know what is “fair” and “unfair”.

Children begin to tease. But this is not because they are sneakers, but because they want to find out the sense of justice of an adult, to determine for themselves the existing social boundaries.

The Montessori classroom offers a certain elementary set of environments for this age, which would help to satisfy all the above needs of children 6–12 years old.

At this age, children begin to independently plan their activities, first for a day, and then for longer periods of time (week, month). Six-year-olds can write huge to-do lists without doing them.

But gradually, an analysis of what has been done arises and the lists become more real. At the end of the day, children must perform self examination. 

And at the end of the school week, they analyse the entire time period, assess the events that occurred during this period and themselves in them.

At first they are ready to evaluate the behaviour of a friend, and their own appears in a less self-critical way. Gradually, having a similar experience of collective discussion, children begin to more carefully assess the owl's behaviour. 

Thus, a child develops the ability for deep self-analysis, which, for example, is rarely possible in the traditional system of education, since it is based on estimates from the outside (marks, criticism or praise of the teacher, etc.). This prevents the development of independent critical judgments; children begin to think of the stamps that an adult offers.

In the Montessori class 6–12, project activities play a huge role. If at step 3 - 6 children were taught to work individually, they created conditions first for spontaneous (0-3), and then controlled concentration, then in 6 - 12 collective work dominates.

which not only provides a unique and multifaceted social experience, teaches teamwork, but also satisfies the basic deep need of a child to be in a team. 

Projects are carried out jointly in a group of 6 to 12 years old with all children. The project should cover not one area of ​​science, but the whole complex. This gives children the idea that all the sciences are interconnected and have practical application.
